what is a good score on the AMC 12 that MIT will want to admit u ?

AMC is by no means a hook, I think USAMO would be a much greater one, though not a guarantee either.

Indeed, I believe 150 will get you in. Anything less looks good but won't help you get in really.

No score is a lock. I know of a 150 scorer with very high AIMEs, multiple USAMOs and MOPs who did not get in.

I know of a 120.5 scorer with high AIME, one USAMO.. he got in.. I'd say 120.5 is a lock.

no way, there were probably 50 kids at my school last year who got over 120 on the AMC, and we had 14 students go to USAMO, and 3 qualify for the olympiad. A score of 120 is not a lock, it's actually not that uncommon.
