I think you probably posted in the wrong place. If you plan to go to UChicago, it is better to post it there. Obviously, the students currently enrolled there are more able to help you.
For WashU, you sound like a good candidate, although it won't hurt if u can raise your SAT to 1400.

I think that your chances are good. Definitely show strong interest (apply ED I think) and you have a shot. You might want to bring those SAT scores up to the 1400 level. Work hard in the first semester of senior year to keep your grades up, as your rank is not at the very top of your class. Your extracurriculars look great. Pick one or two to really intensively focus on in senior year, and make sure to write about it passionately on the favorite activity part of the common app. Wash U might be a bit of a reach school for you, but that doesn't mean that you can't get in. Research the school and find out why you are truly interested and let Wash U know that you are strongly intersted in attending. I would also consider sending a tape showcasing your musical talent. They actually listen to them at Wash U.

Biology is also highly competitive at Wash U because of its excellent pre-med and BME programs connected to its extremely high-ranked medical school. This could also be a factor in whether or not you are admitted.

Work hard to get great grades in senior year, show your enthusiasm and interest in the school, make sure you interview, and bring up those SAT scores and try to hit at least high 600 SATII scores and you have a shot.

The verdict: I'd say it's a reach school, but not an impossible reach school. I would also consider Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD for its strong Bio program that might be a bit less competitive to get in.

Does WashU like students who concentrate on one or two ECs in senior year or who do well in quite a number of ECs?
