Well dear friends, it appears as though my brief affiliation (if you can call it that) with Wash U has come to an end. I was accepted off the wait list a couple weeks ago, making me very excited. I looked at all the glossy pictures and imagined myself in St. Louis and all was swell in the world.

Then my family and I sat down and crunched the numbers. Couldn't afford it. Sat down again after the Fin Aid office adjusted the offer. Still couldn't afford it. So unfortunately, I am declining the offer and parting ways with good old Wash U.

To conclude this very logical and structured post, I would like to say congratulations to everyone who is going to Wash U next year. I think it's awesome. And I would encourage people to apply (perhaps for the scholarships as well as admission, like I never did) next year.

And I'm spent.

I'm sorry that you are unable to go to Wash U. Now, after looking at the costs, I wish that my son would of applied for some of the scholarships at Wash U. He did receive a small scholarship for being National Merit finalist. At least Wash U honors that. My son had full rides at 2 schools, but we all decided that Wash U undergrad would be the best place for him, so we all will pay the price. Our son will pay too. We just paid the second month payment, Ouch!!!! Where are you going to school? Good luck!!!
