By Tomcat8272 (Tomcat8272) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 03:59 pm: Edit

Looks good! Hmmm, but I see you're going to Harvard this summer... boo! jk
No, but you have cool ECs- karate competitor! That's so awesome. I did karate for about a year. Didn't even get my yellow belt.

I feel like the "NU Chances Troll"... someone else want to give their thoughts?

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 11:44 pm: Edit

Would this school be a good match or reach for me?

By Kk19131 (Kk19131) on Monday, June 21, 2004 - 12:36 am: Edit

You’ll slide right in; almost everything is great, epically your being Black. I just don’t like the: "Going to Harvard this summer." LOL.... and Who's Who Among American High School Students is pure nonsense. By the way, what is your major?

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Monday, June 21, 2004 - 12:41 am: Edit

economics and probably education.

By Kk19131 (Kk19131) on Monday, June 21, 2004 - 01:07 am: Edit

You’ll do well anywhere you apply.

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Monday, June 21, 2004 - 08:39 am: Edit

Thanks. Do you know if you have to interview for northwestern

By Kk19131 (Kk19131) on Monday, June 21, 2004 - 03:53 pm: Edit

Suggested, but not required.

Is this school a good match or reach for me?

By Kk19131 (Kk19131) on Monday, June 28, 2004 - 06:50 pm: Edit

Would you apply ED or regular? Either way, I’d say it’s a good match.

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Monday, June 28, 2004 - 06:55 pm: Edit

I'll probably apply regular because early decision doesnt allow me to compare it to other schools

By Elinkamalinka (Elinkamalinka) on Monday, June 28, 2004 - 11:31 pm: Edit

good match...although i think you might want to raise your SAT schores...just in case

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 - 12:45 am: Edit

I'm working on my SAT grade now and hopefully ill get a 1400

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Saturday, July 10, 2004 - 04:22 pm: Edit

I just got a 32 on my ACT's. Does this improve my chances?

By Wattsski (Wattsski) on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 02:20 am: Edit

32 is great. If you tried your SAT II's again and did better that would help you out a lot. They really like to see the effort involved in taking those SAT II's.

As for the interview. NU doesn't even do interviews. Some guide books say the not required but suggested thing, but when I visited the asmissions office said they don't do them at all, unless you count the "group interview" when you go for a tour that noone takes notes at or anything, it is just a chance to ask questions.

By Jennyzsong (Jennyzsong) on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 12:07 pm: Edit

i think that you should up your SAT2's. other than that you have a great chance.

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 01:08 pm: Edit

The northwestern website says that they only recommend sat 2's not require them. They say that it would offset bad sat or act scores. I think i won't send my sat 2 scores or sat , only my act. is this a good idea?

By Jennyzsong (Jennyzsong) on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 02:06 pm: Edit

you could do that, but you still have time to retake those SAT2's and if you did really well it could only help. i didn't realize they didn't require SAT2's hmmm i could have sworn they were necessary... although maybe only for those taking SAT's not ACT?

By Wattsski (Wattsski) on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 08:32 pm: Edit

They're only required for the Honors Medical program. I'm just esposing the knowledge I absorbed from spending wayyyyy too much time on college web sites and reading dozens of college books. Your ACT is awesome, and SAT II's aren't going to get you in on their own, but if they are strong they can really help you out. Be a good kicker over the edge.

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Sunday, July 11, 2004 - 10:35 pm: Edit

Is it possible to get in with my ACT score by itself because i definently hate those sat 2's and i doubt i can go up.

By Wattsski (Wattsski) on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 02:20 am: Edit

Yeah, it is definately possible. But even my friend who had a 35 on her ACT's and had worked at a genetic research lab and found a copy of inverted fruit fly genes didn't get into Duke on just her ACT score. Just to warn you. I'm sure that your chances would be excellent without it, but those SAT II's can really help. I know mine did and I only took 2. Bio 800, Writing 720 ( I didn't get to finish my essay due to procter interference but whatever).

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 08:36 am: Edit

What would you say I should do if I think I can't go up anymore on teh sat 2's and thats probably the best I can do?

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 10:11 pm: Edit

If I only send in my ACT scores will northwestern be a good match or reach for me?

By Wattsski (Wattsski) on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 11:25 pm: Edit

Yeah, I would think so. Mind you, this is my OHO I don't sit in the admissions office.

By Stanmaster22 (Stanmaster22) on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 - 12:08 am: Edit

No i meant is this school a good match for me or is it a reach school for me.
