Discus: Individual Schools: Top Liberal Arts Colleges (LACs): Washington and Lee University: Academic Opportunity/Breadth
By Cornelius (Cornelius) on Thursday, June 17, 2004 - 06:26 pm: Edit

It appears as if there are no summer courses or program. The spring program would be some consolation if one could take more than one course.

I want to get a good liberal arts education and probably double major. Without a summer program this will be much harder to do.

Anyone have any comments?

I remember reading the graduation article on the W&L website and it said a good number of students had two majors. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard if a deal of others have done it.

The 12-12-6 calendar is really appealing to me. It sounds exciting.

Well Im a current junior double majoring in politics and history. We can take 2 classes without permission during the sprin term, but if you want to take more you can just ask permission. It's really not difficult ot double major, if you do not take your time for granted.

I am going to be a Junior at W&L, and it has been absolutely amazing. The teachers are wonderful. They really want to get to know you and help you out. They are usually more than willing to meet with you outside of class and exchange emails with you. There are lots of opportunities to explore any subject you may be interested in at W&L. Academically, it really is top-notch!!!
