I just completed by Freshman year as a Film Studies major at Cornell University in the college of Arts and Sciences. I did E.D. a year and a half ago and was accepted on the first try. Originally, I planned to be an Archaeology Major.
Currently, I am considering transferring to another university for the Spring '05 semester to better focus on my Film Studies. I plan to apply to USC's school of Television and Cinema Studies and the Tisch School at NYU.
High School:
Lexington High School (Lexington, MA) ... This is one of the top public high schools in the country according to Boston Magazine with more people going to Harvard from last year's graduating classes nationwide (10), 27 Ivy League students, and 10 MIT students.
GPA:
3.6 Unweighted, 4.1 Weighted
Class Rank: None Given
EXAMS
SAT I
V: 680, M:710
SAT II
US Hist: 750, World Hist: 780, Chem: 680
AP Exams:
Euro: 3, US: 5, Chem: 4, Physics B: 4, Stat: 3, Virgil: 3
Nat'l Latin Exam: Silver and Cum Laude awards
Other Awards:
State Speech/Debate Championships Qualifications, Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor (the highest award from Scouting Honor Society), AP Scholar

During my senior year, I took an Independant Study in AP Latin Vergil and 4 years of Latin
Work Experiance:
6 summers working at the same scout camp for 10 weeks a summer and on call 24 hours a day, 5.75 days a week. Last summer, I directly lead four staff members. This year, I will be one of three camp leaders who do P.R. work and damage control.
Activites:
Boy Scouts, Order of the Arrow (The Scouting Honor Society. I served on the Regional Staff), Debate Team (I was the Assistant Captain for our Nationally Recognized squad), The Outdoors Club
College:
Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences: Many consider Cornell to be the hardest of the Ivy League institutions.
GPA: 3.35
Activates: Cornell Concert Commission (I served on the Selections Board. We were responsible for bringing bands such as Guster and O.A.R.. I did stage work at concerts), Drama (I got the lead in a Fall production and have been tapped as the Asst. Director for next year). I was requested by a professor and did camera work for documenting a three day protest this spring.
Submission Material: I've written short stories to positive acclaim from professors, though I havn't submitted them to competition. I shot a few short films back in High School, submitted them to festivals (although they didn't hand out awards, the films got positive reviews), and plan to shoot one for application in the Fall. Writing the script is a summer goal of mine.
Other: I was elected to live in the Risley Residential College for the Fine and Performing Arts at Cornell University
Any thoughts about my stats and (more importantly) if they might be good enough for transfer to said programs (NYU and USC)? Before you respond, I note that I am aware that transfers are partially determined by how many slots are available on any given semester.
