I don't know much about Hofstra, but Fordham is a harder school to get into than Pace, but their aid sucks. Pace is a nice school. It's in my favorite area of Manhattan, and unlike many schools in nyc your freshmen dorms are in the same building as your classes and the library. But the first year dorms suck. I would definitly go check each one out before you make a decision.

You might also want to look at Manhattan College-it's in a safer area of the Bronx than Fordam Rose Hill is and it's a great school, Marymount Manhttan College- is a small school on the Upper East Side and has great dorms(I'm going here next year), Brooklyn College, any of the CUNYs especally Hunter but none of the CUNYs offer housing.

Um....

Anyone who perpetuates the "Fordham's aid sucks" myth has probably had no experience with the school. My aid absolutely rocks. It's an awesome combination of merit, grants, and work-study, and loans. Whatever.

Secondly, the Hunter's Honors program offers housing.

I'd say go with Fordham or Hofstra. I actually decided between the two, just weeks ago. (Both gave amazingly generous aid, btw.) It just came down to whether I wanted a party school in Long Island or a well-respected one in the Bronx. I looked into the Lincoln Center campus too, but ruled it out because unless you're a theatre major, you'll really be missing out on some college experiences. Like you, I didn't really care as long as I was in Manhattan, but I'd strongly advise you visit LC before committing... It's really small, and all your classes will be in 2 buildings. It's more like office buildings... but hey. maybe that's your thing.

Good Luck!

Oh well, I've heard many horror stories about aid at Fordham, but I guess that's why you don't believe everything you hear. ;) As for me knowing nothing about the school, my friend and my cousin both went to Fordham Rose Hill. They both liked the school, but complained about aid.

I guess it depends on who you talk too.

Fordham has best academics out of those
