I called them to check, and it seems they are accepting waitlist students, BUT there are no spots for engineers. I guess I won't be seeing any of y'all in college...

Florida. Very solid private school. Be sure to show a lot of interest and tell them you will definitely go if accepted.

I got in off the Waitlist today. Yeah, Wash U Class of 2008!!! I sent in an additional letter saying that I would attend if accepted, and giving the Committee more information on me. I'm seriously on Cloud Nine!

I am going into the College of Arts and Sciences. I am planning to double major in Biology and English. I am really interested in PNP, though. I dont know what will end up happening
I wonder how many were let off this round?

i'm still on the waitlist (they were actually waiting to see my grades wich i overnighted on friday.....i'm a transfer BTW) but i was gonna call tommorow and ask about writing a letter or tell them straight out. you still think they're accepting ? (they must be though since this is the earliest i could send them my grades).
so, you feel writing the letter helped? or does calling have the same effect? cause either way i would love to go there, and would not only go if they accepted me but go earlier in the summer if they dont have spaces.
also, i applied to the Liberal Arts program, so i imagine my chances are better than if i applied to Olin like i wanted to.

I think that writing a letter is definitely beneficial- in fact, i think it was the thing that got me into the school. I not only told Wash U that it was the school for me, but I also was able to explain what I had been doing ever since applying. That way, I was better able to explain my activities and my roles in them. Letters also give insight into your style and personality- concrete insight that can be added to your file. So in this way, I fully encourage you to write a letter. Calling is also probably okay, but the letter gets added to your file so that the Committee can read it while going over your file again.
Also, does anyone know about how many have been admitted off the waitlist?

well alot of those things could be just said in the pplication in the first place.
plus, unlike most here i'm not technically waitlisted, as i'm a Transfer student and they apprently dont waitlist transfers.....yet that did still want to re-review my application after they received my spring grades.
i dont know how different my situation is, perhaps i was already pretty much in but they wanted to make sure i didnt screw up, OR they were really thinking "no" but they wanted to give me another shot, i frankly do not know.
i thought about sending a letter but as soon as my grades got in the application got sent up so sending a letter was too late.
i did CALL and mention to whomever i talked to about how Wash-U was my first choice and whatnot, but i doubt that helped, since they dont make the decisions.
anyhow i'm still waiting, i figure though i got a pretty realistic shot, no one else here is a transfer student applying to Liberal Arts anyway so maybe i have less competition.
