I know as fres. you have no controll, but which dorms have more single rooms? Which dorms are known to be more calm and have less parties and which dorms party the most? Can you have alcohol in your room and party in the dorm? Is there any same sex dorms?

i'm not a student at rice (tho I might be a fresh there next year--i'm still undecided), but i did visit this march. here's what i know:

-my host told me all the dorms host parties except for will rice
-students do have alcohol in their rooms
-i'm pretty sure all dorms are coed

i stayed in sid rich, and liked the dorm a lot. i also poked my head into martel and that looked nice too.

Most of them are cool. I stayed 2 nights
at Sid and liked it a lot. My interviewer
told me about Brown, my roommate's older
sister was at Martel, and I listened to
the philharmonic group at Wiess. Generally,
they are all unique in some area(s). Sid's
notorious for their parties and drinkers (so
if that's what you like)...
