I'm pretty sure I'm going to choose Caltech because of its awesome records of getting undergrads into top grad schools. The primary reason is that the low student-prof ratio allows the students to get to know at least a few profs by the end of 3/4 years. Also, all the profs are world famous and their letters of rec. are considered highly by other profs.

There are some downsides. Even in just science/tech/engineering topics, Caltech just doesn't have enough profs to provide all the related classes. Some senior undergrads commented about this, but they still managed to get into top grad schools (seems most Caltech people get into Stanford).

The amount of drinking shocked me at first, but oh well... That and the video/computer games, and I see now why only 72% graduates in 4 years.
