i might be attending CSULB this fall and i just wanted to know what there is to do around there.

i visited the campus and its really nice but what about off campus? what i saw of long beach looked really ghetto. where do students go for fun/jobs/food?

We stayed overnight near the campus when we took our d there for a visit last month. The surrounding areas sort of freaked d out a little at first because it did look a little ghettoish to her also.

Then morning brought new light and it didn't seem as bad as it had the night before. So perhaps it can seem that way at times. I don't know. lol

Anyway, have you received a finaid package from CSU Long Beach? We received one for my d and let me say it was not a great package. They offered her a sub-loan and that's it. Nothing else.

When we called to ask if there was something more they could offer to make it more appealing for d to attend they said there wasn't any more money to be given away and we'd have to settle for what was offered. So basicly they wanted us to take on a high parent plus loan which we refused to do. So because of the rotten finaid package d will not be attending CSU Long Beach unless they can give us a little more help in meeting those expenses.

Where are you guys from?

I'm from long beach and there are a lot of great spots to hang out. A lot of people like to hang around places that are close to the beach. There are a lot of good places to go and hang out you just have to look for them. Just remember that this city is huge and very diverse, so there is always something cool or fun for everyone
