Unweighted GPA: 3.94 Weighted GPA: 4.68
EC's:
Newspaper sports editor
Engineering club president
Individual champion Varsity Tennis
White male, they dont rank at my school, ap scholar, maryland distinguished scholar, took a molecular biology/genetics summer program at Columbia U. and have a letter of rec saying i got the highest grade in the class on the course final, participated in a tobacco related disorders research fellowship offered by the University of Maryland Office of student research, I created my own DBQ for AP american history which was selected to be published on COlumbia University American History online, AP scores so far AP Calc: 3 AP Physics: 4 AP US Hist: 4 AP English Lit: 3
Im takin AP CHem and calc BC this year

I have many more EC's, but im just giving u the main ones.

I havent recieved the university day invitation (Could it still come on monday?)
What are my chances at NYU CAS?

not everyone who is admitted gets the likely letter/invitation, i suspect.

Last year everyone who was admitted got the invitation for the event that's taking place on April 4 this year. Perhaps it's different this year.

I wonder if we can dig up old articles from NYU's paper about this? Wasn't a link someone posted to an NYU article dated a few years ago? It did say that the invite was only offered to the top students, so they might've said it was only offered to the top students last year as well. You seem sure about what you're saying, Matth, is there any link you could give us so we can be sure too?

Jab23rox, I now understand your frustation. You have excellent stats. Would you say your essay and recs were excellent too? It seems like NYU randomly rejects people almost :/

PEOPLE I got the the CAS special reception invitation today!!!!! I think this may be for the exceptional applicants to NYU!!

sunday at the square is for exceptional students(tio few % of incoming class), university day seems a bit more random but it does mean good news is prolly on the way so congrats
