Does anyone have any info on Stetson? Based on my readings, it sounds like it may be a "country club" type school. Any opinions on academics or campus culture are appreciated!

I'm interested in Stetson as well. I've heard that Deland is boring, however it is close to Orlando and Daytona so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

My son is a sophomore at Stetson. It has turned out to be a great fit for him. He wasn't crazy about it at first, but I think that's just him....he takes a while to adjust to new situations.

Deland is a very small town, with not a lot to do. The students do go to Daytona and Orlando, but there are campus activities as well. My son joined a fraternity last spring, and that has given him many more social opportunities.

My son has really enjoyed the academics at Stetson and the small classes have enabled him to get to know his professors. They have an excellent Study Abroad program, and also good departments in Business, English and Education. They have a pre-law track that guarantees admission to Stetson Collge of Law (that campus is located on the west coast, in St. Petersburg).

I've met a few of my son's friends and they seem to be a diverse group, geographically, and socio-economically. The school gives generous aid.

Any specific questions, I'll be glad to try to answer.
