I probably won't make my college choice until after I visit Ann Arbor, which probably will not be until the second week of April. Should I send in my non-refundable deposit now to guarantee a spot and housing even if I decide to go to Wake(which I will not get a decision from until April 1)? I'm afraid the class may fill up(does this really happen?) or I may get crappy housing on North campus for example.

anyone have any advice? I think i'll just send it in, whats the harm in losing 200 bucks(when you compare it to 4 years of tuition)? Do we indicate a specific dorm on the form or just a general area? thanks

Once you visit Ann Arbor and see for yourself, i think you'll be hooked.

Is the deposit a commitment, or is it non-binding?
Either way, I think that it's pretty ridiculous that an offer of admission is so heavily contingent on available space.

it's non refundable. you're not required to attend even if you send it, but the $200 offically reserves your spot and they'll send you housing info, etc

Linedeacon....i went to campus day and they said that when you get your housing packet you specify the area you want, not the particular dorm. you can also specify what kind of hall you want (coed by floor, room, etc) i wish we could specify the dorm we want, but whatever.
