I've just been notified as a Danforth Finalist. Can anyone tell me what the interviewing panel might ask during the interview? Does anyone know what the weekend will be like? any helpful suggestions on what to look for during my stay on campus? thanks

Way to go! I applied for the Mylonas and the Nemerov but didn't even know the Danforth existed until it was too late. Major mistake, because I really need merit aid if I have any chance at attending. Anyway, congratulations to you and good luck!

I applied for the Danforth but I did not receive any information (accept/reject) yet. Did you get it by mail? email? how?

Where did you hear about Danforth scholarships. I looked at the web site and nothing is there, other than some brief mentions if I do a search.

What are they for?

My daughter just learned she is a Danforth finalist. She received a call from the Danforth coordinator at WUSTL today. Apparently, finalists were emailed on Friday, 2/13, and finalists were told to respond no later than Monday, 2/20. We never received the email. Thank God she called. Danforth is not well publicized. Students can be nominated either by a school counselor or an alum. Just 36 finalists named from 1600 applicants. My daughter applied RD, has not actually gotten her acceptance letter yet. She is excited.

I applied for the Danforth scholarship, but I have not heard anything back. Should I call the school?

darn it! I really needed that money. How good is their financial aid? Do they cover 100% need?

Maybe if some don't respond, or have chosen another school we could still get in. I am surpirsed they didn't send us reject letters.

Yeah Goneinfivemin.. i don't get why they didn't send us reject letters also. Maybe there is some sort of wait list thing..a small glimmer of hope. I wonder when the school scholarship notifications come out.

I emailed the office yesterday. They confirmed that the application was received and that he is not being considered as a finalist.

If someone writes/calls them, I'd be interested to know how many people applied.

By Verysmallrocks (Verysmallrocks) on Thursday, February 19, 2004 - 08:33 pm: Edit

The email I got said that 1,674 people applied and 36 are finalists.

Are the Danforth finalists removed from consideration from any of the other merit scholarships?
