This summer, I visited The College of Wooster. I was very impressed and I plan on applying. I am an OK student at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School. When evaluating my grades, please keep in mind the rigor of my school. Last semester I earned one A, one B+, one B, two B-‘s, and one C+. My current GPA is 3.0 (not weighted). As I have not yet taken the SAT, I only have a PSAT score. My PSAT score was the equivalent of a 1200 on the SAT. The goal my college counselor and I set for my final SAT score is in the high 1300's, possibly 1400. As of now, I have not taken any AP courses; however, I am enrolled in AP Music Theory for this coming school year. By the time I graduate I will have completed four years of English, four years of math (thru Calculus I with the possibility of AP Statistics in addition to Calculus), four years of science (Biology, Chemistry, Trig Physics, and one science elective with the possibility of AP Biology or AP Physics), four years of history (World History I, World History II, US History, and one history elective (probably AP Economics), three years of a foreign language (Spanish thru Spanish III and one year of Italian), four years of concert band, and one year of music theory. Despite my busy academic life, I am also heavily involved in extracurricular activities. I play water polo, swim, manage the girls’ swim team, and participate in many musical solo competitions and auditions. I have won numerous music awards. In addition, I volunteer at a pregnant women’s shelter, a nursing home, and a tutoring center for inner-city children. I consider myself to be fairly well rounded. The College of Wooster’s near 70% acceptance seems promising. Can someone who has experience with Wooster please evaluate my chances of being accepted. Thank you very much!!

Wow, that was a lot of information! The bottom line is that you should have a 95% chance of being admitted.
I too visited COW at an Open House last spring and had a great visit. The students who talked to us didn't seem to be sugar coating things but seemed to like their time there. The campus is very nice and well maintained. Our student guide was witty and smart. The IS program is highly admired and teaching seems to be first rate! I say this because there are only 20 LAC's who rank in the top 50(using obsective criteria) whose graduates go on to become leaders in science, business and international relations. The list includes the likes of Amherst, Williams, Swarthmore and Haverford, good company.
I have been accepted and offered a College Scholar scholarship. Unfortunately, RPI and Case have offered me significant more merit scholaship money and, as a probable compsci major, I cant justify paying more $'s to attend Wooster. I will have to wait and see what else the may be able to come up with by April.
I believe Wooster is a hidden gem. Good luck.
