No we won't find out until early March. If you applied ED you should know by know. From what I know it's not too hard to get. If you post your stats, I could probably give you an estimate of your chances of getting the scholarship. Were you at the Exploration Weekend? If so, I was too and I might remeber you.

no shsjonb, i didn't go to the Exploration Weekend. Here are my stats:

SAT: 1250

SAT II: 610 math, 600, chemistry

AP's: Chemistry-in may, European-in may, French, Calculus-in may (in may=when i take the AP exam)

EC's: NHS, Beta Club, Art Club, Photo Club, Life Club, Memoirs, SADD, French Club, SEEP program at Medical College of GA, about 100-120 hours of volunteer work total

Pretty good essay, kinda shaky recommendation

so what do you think and what are your stats?

If your unweighted GPA is 3.4 or better, I think you'll have a good chance of getting into Wash U. With your test scores you'll probably need to have excellent grades to have a chance at the Ervin though. I know a sophomore there who had a 1290 and was salutatorian of his class and is an Ervin, but it's getting more competitive every year. I wouldn't worry about financial aid if I were you though. They have another scholarship available to blacks who don't get the Ervin called the Enterprise Rent-a-car scholarship. From what they told me they gave out about 30 Ervins last year and 30 Rent-a-cars. Therefore about half the blacks in the freshman class are probably on atleast a 3/4 tuition scholarship.I'd say you have a 75% chance of getting in and a 50% chance of getting some kind of full tuition scholarship.

My stats
SAT 1400
SAT IIs 800IIC, 780IC, 730 Writing
UW GPA 3.6

Oh yeh, about ten of the Ervins are only 1/2 tuition.

I've compiled these stats from the information they've been sending to me since sophomore year. I've also talked with some people high up on the admissions chain. It seems to me that we should be finding out about the Ervin results now though since the finalist weekend begins on March 25.

Hmm... I got rejected from Ervin...

SAT:1320
ACT: 30

Math IIC: 630
Chemistry: 630
Writing: 680

GPA: 3.9 UW

I think I had WAY too many ECs (I tend not to sleep lol). They seem to not like that... Oh well :).
