Well, I applied to Washington University in St. Louis after receiving a crazy mailing blitz from them (like all of my other friends, and I am assuming most of you too).

It's been about a month since I sent the application, and I just today received this huge "Undergraduate Programs" listing booklet. Is this just part of the mailings blitz? Or does this mean they are actually considering me?

I mean, it IS a pretty large book (at 350 pages) to just send to every applicant...but I don't want to EVER get my hopes up about a college.

EDIT: Did anybody else receive this? If you applied last year or ED or something, did you then get in? Or am I getting my hopes up for nothing...

By the way, I've been reading these forums for like two years, but this is the first time I felt it necessary to post...awesome.

Yeah. I'm guessing standard mailing for people who sent in Part I of their apps....but yeah, it could be part of the whole mailing list--I don't see how that'd help WUSTL out besides waisting money though. I got mine awhile ago. I don't remember. Over a month ago.

Well, either all four of us are being seriously considered or this book is just sent to everyone. It's probably the latter, but we can always hope for the former. bah.

Well, looking back, for U of Chicago, I started their app maybe entering some standard info. I hadn't received info from them before. A week later, I got their course study book.

Yes but, was it as big as the WUSTL book? I mean, it seems like an awful waste of money to send one of these to everyone who completes an application...

Mmm, you're right, it wasn't as big but almost as thick. Although I got an impressive viewbook with it too. I still wouldn't think too much about it. I've read from this board about people getting handwritten mail from WUSTL!!

i got the book too, but did anyone get information on the different payment plans available. A little after i sent in my app, they mailed my parents ways in which they could pay for my education there. DO you think this means anything, or did anyone else get ways to pay for WASHU

That does seem to mean something Mafmaf, unless that is something that you just get after you send your FAFSA.

It seems WUSTL is working hella hard to up its applicant numbers and climb the rankings...

i got the payment methods right after i sent in my app. i did NOT apply for financial aid so they won't even be getting a FAFSA, so maybe it means something? anyone else have any other ideas?
