Ok, I know I'm pretty screwed for turning in my app so late, but oh well. Better late than never, right? Anyways, I'm still working on the essays, and what exactly do admissions look for in the essays? I'm having problems coming up with ideas for the topics...

honestly just be yourself and be as creative and unique as you can be. there's really nothing else you can do, and there isn't a certain "type" of essay that the UMich admissions board is looking for.

just write them with the intention of making yourself stand out. my english teacher told me that you want the adcoms to say "yeah i like this kid" after they finish reading your essay.
