How's it like there?

It was crappy. My mom went there for about six months, and hated it. She had transferred from Georgetown and promptly transferred back when she could (personal family reasons required her to attend a school around that area).

I heard a lot of negative things about its atmosphere as well. But among the SUNYs, stony is one of the better colleges. And Stony has a really competitive comp sci program that surpasses all the other SUNY schools (including binghamton).

It is also very close to NYC, accessible by LIRR (long island railroad), so there are a lot commuters. The campus looked crappy.

I here its great for the Sciences! It is not a party school, alot of students are very much into their studies. I am an older student (26) looking to transfer there in 2006. To study Bio, I hope to visit soon to see if it feels right!

is it very difficult to get into the BA/MD program? What are some of the requirements?? Could anybody please give me some information? Thank you!

PS- how long does it take to get to NYC with that railway system?

I think the train ride is about 90 minutes (at the most)-may be a little shorter.
