Is this the perfect premed major? I was looking at my University of Michigan-Ann Arbor brochure, (every day I see myself wanting to go there more and more) and noticed something. In its College of Engineering, UMich, obviously, offers Biomedical Engineering. Acceptance to this school is very competitive as it is one of the best in the country. However, in UMich's College of Literature, Science, and Arts, it offers along with the usual Biology, Chemistry, Biochem, Biophysics, etc a major called Cell and Molecular Biology. Right underneath that is a major called "Cell and Molecular Biology and Biomedical Engineering." My question is this: is this too good to be true? Biology and BME in one major or a double major of sorts. That sounds like the perfect premed plan.

this is an update to my first post. I just found out on the UMich website that this major is a 5 year program with an MS in BME. That sounds perfect as a backup for med school. hehe a MS already if you don't get in. But, because it is a 5 year program, does that harm you in Med school admission. I would think not. but you never know.

Do you want to be a physician, Gotstuck86? I'm a junior, so no I haven't applied yet. But, I will in the fall.
