btw, Good luck to those applying... I'm just an example of how anything can happen... or at least mistakes can occur... Haha.
Maybe with those who have been accepted, we can start a club.
I'm off to celebrate, peace!

UF is nice. I live in Gainesville. It's a very nice town. The winters are usually nice, but it's so friggin hot the rest of the year. The tuition is super cheap too (~3k instate, 10k outstate). No parking. One main mall no where close to campus. LOTS of publixes (~6 of them). Oh, and did i mention it was hot here?
Good luck Jin

What is your reconfigured UMich GPA? If you don't know how to compute it... don't count 9th grade, drop all +'s and -'s, count only academic classes, and round to the nearest whole number for instance (3.45 = 3.5, 3.43=3.4)
By Jinhamasaki (Jinhamasaki) on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 - 10:31 pm: Edit
I hate Gainesville, it's so friggin small in the middle of nowhere! It's like uhmm....empty! ALsoI got lost on the streets lol

Rmehney- are you telling me they round your GPA! Everyone I have talked to said that no school on Earth rounds GPA's. I asked my guidance counseler and he said the same thing. If you are true that would be great, because I would have a 3.8 instead of a 3.76
By Rmehney (Rmehney) on Friday, December 26, 2003 - 12:59 am: Edit
Yes, they round up/down. I have had this confirmed over the phone by the person that MADE the decision on my application.
By Rmehney (Rmehney) on Friday, December 26, 2003 - 01:00 am: Edit
I even have confidential forms via the university to my high school containing information proving this.
By Spydersport824 (Spydersport824) on Friday, December 26, 2003 - 11:34 am: Edit
that is awesome. do all schools do this or just UMich?
By Rmehney (Rmehney) on Saturday, December 27, 2003 - 03:40 pm: Edit
I am unsure.
By Wastingtime (Wastingtime) on Saturday, December 27, 2003 - 04:19 pm: Edit
The UMich rep. that came to my school to talk about the university said that GPA's on a scale are recalculated accordingly:
Any grade between 90-100 = 4.0
Any grade between 80-90 = 3.0
70-80 = 2.0
60-70 = 1.0
It seemed a bit crazy to me because that means my GPA is 4.0 based on the recalculations, but hey, I guess it works to my advantage!

subparasian, just curious, how many APs?
By Subparasian (Subparasian) on Wednesday, January 07, 2004 - 06:42 pm: Edit
before senior year? 3
right now, senior year? 6
...but my school was like #41 in (Time? USNews?) Top 100 High Schools... so that explains my low class rank.
By Alphachimp (Alphachimp) on Thursday, January 08, 2004 - 08:37 pm: Edit
that list is bs because it doesnt include schools with entrance exams. no offense or anything.
By Vulcano (Vulcano) on Thursday, January 08, 2004 - 10:30 pm: Edit
Should I call UMich and ask them what the status of my application is? Im an international student so would it not be wise to call and see the possible mail problems or should I not bother?
