How is a deferral possible in rolling admissions?? Does your letter then give another date by which they will respond?? What does it say??

A 3.8 unweighted is good, and your SAT score is above average. You havea big difference between scores though...
I'd say you have a good chance. I'm not sure how competitive their computer science is though.

Hey ya, I applied Mid December. When should I expect my rejection letter? Thanks
By Subparasian (Subparasian) on Thursday, December 25, 2003 - 03:39 pm: Edit
It is rumored that they do it in batches, but i think about a 2 month(7-8 week) waiting period is expected. (Me and a few friends applied Nov 6 and got it back Dec 23)

By Gameguy56 (Gameguy56) on Wednesday, January 07, 2004 - 04:40 pm: Edit
Becks, also consider applying to UIUC, if you want to do Computer Sci, UIUC is just as good as michigan(maybe even better) , plus you'll have a better chance because you will be in-state
By Becks777 (Becks777) on Wednesday, January 07, 2004 - 06:03 pm: Edit
Yeah, i have applied to UIUC but the admission officer told me that they dont "consider location"- meaning instate/out of state when applying to UIUC. Is that true or she just said that coz there were several out of state people at the meeting that time
By Subparasian (Subparasian) on Wednesday, January 07, 2004 - 06:31 pm: Edit
It's probably true... because Illinois is not a small state (chicago, springfield, etc). State residency only helps if the public university has a shortage of qualified in-state students. In florida, for example, like 95% of the students are from in-state, so they definitely aren't short of in-state students, thus, residency is meaningless.
