stats?

do you know of any minimum requirements?

By Brownjohn2 (Brownjohn2) on Thursday, December 18, 2003 - 05:39 pm: Edit

Jgold500 - I did as well. I have two questions, which may appear elitist, but I'm really not - I just don't any other way to phrase it. 1. Do you know if most honors kids live in the separate dorm they have? 2. Do the honors kids have classes with the rest of the school? Once again, no offense meant to anyone else.

my stats are:

1490 Sat I

Writing 800
U.S. History 750
Math IIC 750

Rank: 22/350
GPA: UW: 3.8 W. 4.1
Out of state
9 APs taken by graduation

From what I gather from the letter I received, I think honors students have the choice of receiving honors housing or not. In regards to the classes, honors students have to complete a certain percentage of their classes as honors classes. The rest are taken with the rest of the student body.

Do you know if most honors students elect to live in honors housing?

By Garland (Garland) on Friday, December 19, 2003 - 03:54 pm: Edit

Most do (about 72% according to the website)--it's South Quad, one of the most convenient dorms on the campus.

By Jgold500 (Jgold500) on Sunday, December 21, 2003 - 05:16 pm: Edit

Do you have to apply for the honor's programme or are you chosen based on your application?

By Jgold500 (Jgold500) on Sunday, December 21, 2003 - 08:52 pm: Edit

chosen based on your application

Am I making a mistake not living in the honors housing? Is there any reason NOT to accept an invitation to the honors program?

By Subparasian (Subparasian) on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 - 12:07 pm: Edit

You're most likely one of the other 28% who chose not to live in the honors dorms... which seems like a fair amount. If i'm not mistaken, honors dorms are usually more expensive.
