Hi, i'm applying to CIT for mechanical engineering and wondering what my chances are.

SAT I: 710M,700V
SAT II: 660 math 2C, 650 Physics, 600 Writing (retaking all of these, supposebly tommorrow if they dont close for snow)

GPA: 3.77 unweighted
9 AP's and most of my other classes were honors
EC's:

Quiz Bowl - Captain
Science Club - Vice President
Spanish Club - Historian

Science Olympiad - (2nd - cell bio, 1st wright stuff)
Science Fair - (hon mention - freshman, 3rd - soph, 1st - Junior)
Robotics Team

I also tutor for students at my high school.

I got my recs from teachers that know me very well, and my essays were beyond mediocre but not the great.

P.S. forgot to mention that i was an asian male, and that i'm actually serious about mechanical engineering and not some guy that's gonna transfer to eece or cs the 2nd yr.

Join the group, who isn't asian in CMU?

Anyway, I think your chances are very good although no one can ever be certain, I would say your chances are around 50-60% in. Cit is one of the harder school to get into. Obviously the hardest being cs. If you want to get into CMU for certain than apply to HSS or MCS, and then transfer after the second year.
