so basically, as the title says, do I get any bonus points for being half asian, half white? because, you know, that would be pretty cool.

I don't think it hurts you at Michigan since their Asian population isn't THAT outrageous. Schools like Berkeley and UCLA, it will hurt if you apply as an asian.

I wouldn't say being asian hurts you necessarily, but it sure doesn't help you. Neither is being white. Those are both Over Represented Minorites. Being a mix of both makes no difference.

BTW the UC colleges do not look at racial background in admissions (so they say) because of a law or something. That is why UCLA and Berkeley has such a high Asian population (4x%), because they have no limits on how many asians can get in. Same reason their SAT Averages are so low, they don't care much about the SAT in selecting individuals for admission.

Yo man this kid i kno got into UMICH eNGINEERING with hard classes 31 ACT he's half white half chinese and he ahd like a decent GPA like 3.7Weighted i htink so yeah i guess it does help ya!
