I'm not an ignorant gamer who hangs out too much playing Counterstrike. I'm not even a h4xx0r. I just wanted to know, who here does/uses/likes 1337 5p33k? Do you think a guy well versèd in leetisms should even think about Harvard if accepted there?

Uh... kinda awkward. People who play too much become ignorant gamers?

But yeah, prob. everyone at MIT is familiar w/ leet speak. Quite a few at Harvard should also be somewhat familiar.

BTW, CS = lame. CS's slow pace encourages newbie campers to sit behind a corner/crate and wait for the footsteps to come close. Otherwise, the newbs like me get killed in the first 30 sec and it sucks to wait 8 min for the round to end! Action Quake 2 was the best mod ever! (this was the previous incarnation of CS; same developers but I guess they wanted to make it even more realistic than AQ2)

Hey hey!

I just am finishing d/l'ing the entire Steam (700 megs)! Everyone else has Steam already I presume. Seems like it's nice of Valve to offer games for free right now. And HL2 won't be out for another 5 months (when we'll have to d/l it via Steam)

Actually, playing seriously with clans (aka, CAL league/scrims) leads to a lot of camping. On certain maps the CTs MUST rescue hostages (or else the Terrorists win) and on other maps, Terrorists MUST plant the bomb (or else CTs will win). Those sort of restrictions on a teams actions make camping very much a part of the game in scrims/clan-play.

first of all hostages arent used in clan play, only bomb maps. and if you must plant the bomb then there's no camping the round out; you gota go plant the bomb or you lose. so the cts guard the bombsite and the t's try to take it. There's much strategy and teamwork involved...
