Anyone have kids who have applied here and awaiting financial aid packages or any other info about this school you would like to share?

I applied EA and really hope i'll get in, i visited last year and its an incredibly beautiful school with small classes and really friendly people (as far as i could tell, only being there for one day). All the administrators seemed really helpful too. I called once to make sure they got my application, and the guy was really friendly and called me back later to let me know they had received it....i couldnt help but think about how that prolly wouldnt happen at a UC.

My friend goes there. He hates it... he's transferring at the end of the semester.

Apparently it is a real party school and not at all friendly to straight-edge kids.

Hmm. That's interesting because the kids I know who go there are not big partiers and really like it. Of course, maybe they're not as "straight edge" as they seem. LOL! Unfortunately, I think these days that nearly every college has its share of drunken people at times.

Is it really a party school? Cuz ive heard that the alcohol policies etc. are really strict there, and i know the frats and sororities dont even have houses so that eliminates partying there....where would they party? off campus?

No, it's not a party school. Students there have fun, but at the same take their studies very seriously.

Sunncagirl - Congratulations! Don't worry there are plenty of parties at USD. I see the stacks of beer cans in the trash outside the dorms adjacent to my daughter's high school. But I still wouldn't call it a party-school by any means.

I did read it but I don't have the answers you need. I'm sure they'll be sending you some information that should answer those questions.
