Er let me explain: I'm a prospective student myself, but I've been talking with some alums and they keep acting like MIT has some sort of quota they have to meet with asian students (yes you are lumped together with asians) or any other race for that matter, and well asians seem to have better stats, meaning those people with great recs that should be getting in don't sometimes. Ok that was a horrible explanation and I'm probably goign to get flamed by someone

Edit-Please don't take to heart what I said, however. I should be regarded as some random person in the same boat you are in. You never know what happens till the middle of march rolls around
