Are all the Wheaton students and alumni studying/working? Any Wheaton people out there?

By Crimsonrider (Crimsonrider) on Friday, May 07, 2004 - 08:06 pm: Edit

Not full scholarship, trustee level (10k per year, 4k over one summer)

I am not doing a work study program

I visited campus on April 16 (open house). It was fairly informative but of course seeing a campus for one day will never be enough time to learn what it is like to live there. Dorms seemed nice (but small), single rooms, doubles, triples, and some quads. Food wasn't bad. Seems really nice, and only heard good things about it.

I'm a Wheaton alum and am writing songman.......as I wrote to Crimsonrider...Wheaton is a terrific school.......location near Boston and Providence, wonderful professors, (no T.A.'s)......beautiful campus, strong athletics......new President as of this year...(Dale Marshall retiring....she did amazing things as far as getting Wheaton more attention and major funding)......strong alumnae support of the college, and an invaluable internship program......I did mine at Citigroup and another at Mobil .....got my first job easily with those on my resume......at Chase in NYC.good luck with your son's college choice....

Thanks DKE- unfortunately my son will not be attending Wheaton. It is a nice school and the ad com was very efficient and professional. Due to a multitude of reasons that are too long to list here he will be going to UMass/Amherst. It was a very tough decision for he/we to make especially in light of the wonderful treatment he received from Wheaton throughout the entire admin process.......
