Recently visited the campus of Illinois Weslyan and was quite impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the campus buildings. Can anyone shed light on the college experience there?

I have friends who currently have two daughters and a son at this school (senior, junior,and freshman). The older one went and loved it so the second one had to go. The youngest kept hearing how great the place was from his sisters so he decided to go. There were all top notch students in high school and are doing very well there. The youngest was also admitted to U Chicago and chose Weslayan. The oldest one had also been admitted to Berkeley and decided she wanted to be closer to home. The middle one had been admitted to Rice (her father's college) but then disappointed him somewhat by going to Weslayan. They say they study a lot but have many friends and lots of activities and know all their professors. I am also assuming the "friendly" atmosphere is true and without any real prejudice (they are Hispanic). My friend says there is only one major downside -- he's busted because his income did not qualify for any need based financial aid although each has a partial merit aid award.

Yea, the tuition was something that hold me back, but they've offered me a nice package of merit aid and loan. It's within the amount my parents are able to pay. BTW I'm international.

We just came home from a "meet and greet" of Illinois Wesleyan parents and prospective students. They all seemed so nice. Does anyone have first hand experience with their economics program and political science?

biology and poli sci? is this a 'i dont know if i want to be a doctor or lawyer so i'll major in something that will prepare me for both' idea?
