California Lutheran University is another hidden gem. It's located in Thousand Oaks (between Santa Barbara and LA). CLU is best known for its programs in psychology, education, and business. Another great major there is general biology/biochemistry/molecular biology. The school has an agrrement with a local biotech company to use a DNA sequencer and other stuff like that. The acceptance rate of CLU students into medical school is exceptionally high -- it's over 90%!
