I, too, will make one of these "please tell me i can get into college" kind of posts.

STATS:
white Jewish female, immigrant from Russia
GPA: 3.7 UW/3.8 W
SATs: V-750, M-690
SAT IIs: writing - 750, world history - 770, us history - 790
APs:
English Language : 5
US History: 5
Comparative Gov't: 5

my school doesn't rank. its one of the best public schools in new york and has an absurd amount of kids with high averages.
as for my GPA, i've raised my average from a 3.4 freshman year, so i guess i've got the rising trend thing going.

my senior year classes:
AP American Gov't
AP Micro/AP Macro
AP Calculus AB
AP Environmental Science
Great Books (it's basically like an AP English class)
Fiction Writing
Wall Street

Extracurriculars/Out of School Activities:

-I've been doing theatre since I was 9. I acted until 7th grade, then I switched to stage managing and publicity until high school. Sophomore and junior years I was assistant lighting director, then I became a producer. During junior year I produced three shows and I'm hoping to produce the musical in the fall. I also volunteer with the All-Stars project, which provides theatre opportunities for urban and minority youth.

- volunteering for the Kerry campaign

- babysitting/tutoring this boy for almost three years for about 25 hours a week. i've also volunteered at his school for the past year, chaperoning events, dances, baseball games, etc.

- i am currently taking a class in public policy at a CUNY and will be taking a modern american history class starting in late august.

- i am working on an intel project and just finished my quality of life project.

alright, time for the college list:

- Columbia (College)(ED)
- Georgetown (College)
- Vassar
- Brandeis
- George Washington University
- NYU

Columbia and Georgetown are my dream schools but I don't know what kind of shot I have at getting into them. GWU is my safety.

any suggestions for how I can improve my shots at any of these schools or also for some safeties, because I do need one more. thanks.

i say you have a good shot, but isn't nyu a better school for theatre? admissions is so random these days that i just recommend you look into more safeties
but at least if you georgetown college and not georgetown university, your definetly in by your stats alone

no no, its georgetown university, just the college, not SFS.

any recommendations for safeties?
