Thanks for any potential help

I'm a male, Puerto Rican, 23, Antioch College student, who is a double
legacy. I received a 1360 on my SATS, had an 81 avg at the Bronx High
School of Science, have volunteered twice in Guatemala, and once as a
teacher's assistant at a school for special needs kids in Ohio.

Antioch doesn't give grades but the majority of my evaluations are above
good to excellent, however 2 or 3 are negative. I was elected to Comcil
(the community governing council) twice and have written many feature
cover stories for the school paper.

I produced large scale (3,000+ in attendance) electronica shows aka raves
but in very established venues in New York City for over a year and
received writeups in Newsday (cover of part 3) and magazines.

I also received a UFT Creative Writing award in high school and got 3s in
AP Art and and English.

I've done highly praised work in my philosophy classes but the dept here
is badly understaffed so I'm going to apply to be a philosophy major and
try to enter Cornell through that angle.

So guys what's the deal everyone can I get in?? Any suggestions? Any
help is quite appreciated.

Many thanks..

gr...i hate philosophy at cornell. all the classes are so freaking hard. it is one of the hardest major (imho) because the median score for any of them is below a B+ (whereas say sociology which many of them are A)

but, philosophy + from puerto rico = good chance (plus all the other stuff)

(if you don't know why i mentioned puerto rico it's because our president is proooooo-AA. he used to be the dean or prez of that law school in michigan right around the time of the supreme court thingymabob.) plus, i'm slightly biased. i love the latino living center. and maybe you should apply with interest in cosep <-- good idea.

i appreciate the cosep,

the essay question is really direct in its asking about an experience you (the applicant) have had with a multiplicity of participants and perspective which i think i am going to choose. im inexperienced at writing essays for college and any suggestions on that as well as the admissions process in general would be appreciated.
