I haven't taken everything yet but here is what I have....
SAT-practice test around 1300. I think it will go up, but you never know until you actually take the test.
SATII's-none- waiting until I finish with my classes this year. I figure they will help me prepare.
My current GPA for 9th and 10th grade is 3.71uw and 4.05w
I am in the top 15% of my class of about 400 students.
ec's- NSO, Latin Club(President), and Voluteering.
| By Iamqueena (Iamqueena) on Wednesday, July 07, 2004 - 05:03 pm: Edit |
haven't taken sat I or sat IIs yet.
private all-girls boarding school
GPA for 9th and 10th is 3.6 UW and 3.8 W
school doesn't rank at all but we have a class of like 86.
ecs- varsity softball, travel softball, film club (founder and student head), volunteering, varsity swim, JV fh, oboe, literary mag. and art stuff.
that's the short of it.
i'm aiming to be double major in film/marketing. if a school has a good marketing program and I could major in something and master in film that would be good too. I'm open to suggestions.

Hi, I've just finished my soph year and i am to be a junior the following school year...It already seems like lots of ppl with the same situation as me are posting up their stats to ask for the advice of the "older generation"=). I also would like to know my chances..even though everyone else's stats seems to be better than mine...Could you plz give me some advice on whether it is "possible" to be accepted into these 25 schools? If possible, could you tell me which would "suit" me and which i have a higher possiblity of being accepted(if any)? Thx in advance for the imput! =)
Here are my shameful stats(compared to everyone else on this board)

GPA:
Freshman year: 3.4
Sophomore Year: 3:68
Cumulative: 3.55
PSAT: 1430 for math/verbal
SAT II World History: 790
I take all honors/AP's, etc.
I a on the honor roll/ high honors(one of about 25 people in my class)
Varsity football in the fall
Varsity wrestling in the winter
I got some minor sports/academic awards, not really worth mentioning that much though.
BTW- ali lui, "As you can see, i am nowhere compared to you ppl with stellar stats..."?
Are you kidding me? If you have a near perfect GPA and a 1540 SAT you should be smart enough to figure out that you are not "nothing" compared to the other people on this board. And saying something like that only makes everyone else who doen't have as good stats as you do feel like crap.

i agree: people who either complain that they arent as good as other people and report amazing states are either a) lying about their actual stats and trying to look smart b) have no chance at anything and want other people to feel bad.

Either that...or they're just as pretentious as that to use such wording.

Chill down for a second! My stats aren't as good as you may think! Even though the SAT's good, my other stats for a fact AREN"T as good as y'alls...oh, and everyone in my school has near perfect GPA.(Canadian system 86%-100% = A 73%-85%= B etc..) And Anciento, i am not trying to look smart. To Taching2006 : I said "nothing compared to you ppl with stellar stats" because i don't play any sports (other than at recreational levels) and I am not a captain or national champion of anything!

don't know my rank, but since my school is very competetive, its probably not very high.
PSAT: 191
APs: Biology- 4
SAT: haven't taken it yet, but my highest score on a practice test was 1450 (780 verbal/670 math), so I'm aiming for a 1500 for the old one and a 2250 for the new SAT. (Will be taking both the new and the old SAT, since the UCs require the new one.)

i would post my stats except this board is creeping with kids from my school and at exeter it's a little awkward to have everyone know your stats. don't know why that is, but it's just the general atmosphere i suppose. people try to pretend they don't care about their future when about 100 kids apply to harvard alone. crazy huh?

[Note: I was on the debate team too, but I have quit because I believe that NFL stifles intellectual curiosity by making it virtually impossible to submit to the truth of an opponent's argument. In addition, the way in which debate is scored allows little room for victory through logic but rather in my league all that matters is the appearance of the speaker. Perhaps this is why so many of our politicians have issues with actually following through on what they promise. You have been subjected to my rant of the day.]
Volunteer:
Food Closet (Summer of 9-), 75+ Hours so far
