How do my chances look at my schools? And what should I do about safeties?

Your grades look really good, especially with APs. The only thing I really saw is that your SAT is a bit lower than the averages of those 5 universities. Are you planning on retaking it? I don't think that your score would really make or break your admissions chances, but it couldn't hurt. Good luck to you!

No offense, but your low verbal SAT score and US History score might decrease your chance. I am not expert, but I dont think you would get in H and Stanford. I think you should think more about safeties and matches.

1. I'm retaking the SAT and ACT in October
2. Would the US history really be bad even though I have three other high scores?
3. Yeah, I have trouble figuring out safeties... any suggestions?

all of those schools are all a long shot for you. ed will help you a bit at duke, but i know people with better stats than you that got rejected from duke. i just don't see anything exceptional about you as presented there. GREAT recs/essay are MUSTS if you want any of those schools.

you do need safeties, but possibly even more importantly, you need matches. those schools are not matches for anyone. suggestions: maybe BC? brandeis possibly. not that you need any more reaches, but tufts has a pretty good science program
