Hello. I am junior in high school and i'm wondering about my chances for UCI. I currently have a 3.0 gpa unweighted and am currently taking 2 AP classes. I have not yet taken the SAT, my first test will be in april. I have been consistently been scoring around 1250 on the pratice tests. I plan to take my AP exams and SAT IIs. I have many EC activites, so im not worries about that department, but im worried since my gpa is a bit low if my chances are low. Im want to get into the information sciences program. A few senior friends of mine got in with around the same gpa and sat, but i feel they just got lucky. Anyone wanna give some tips of opinions i would greatly appreciate it.

All of the UC's have fickle admissions. I got in a an in-state transfer with 3.6 GPA but no honors or AP's and strong ec's. Work on you academics if can to give yourself more of an edge and write a good essay. If you are in state your chances aren't too bad but apply to other UC's also even if they seem a little harder to get into. Also, apply to UC MERCED.

You are very, very borderline. Apply to UCR, UCSB, UCSC just in case.
