Not going by any specific field but overall, what is the best science schools

Well, MIT is quite good physical engineering, CalTech is also quite good and underrated but it leams more toward theoretical problem-solving rather than hands-on type of things. Berkeley has a great science program (their chemistry school is top-ranked). I've also heard that Georgia Tech is good for engineering but you'll have to verify this as I don't know much about it

Carnegie-Mellon is also has an excellent undergraduate Engineering program.

Johns Hopkins is good, althought it is more well known for its medical program. Williams and Duke are decent. Carnegie-Mellon is good
