my friend got in last yr w/an SAT score of a 1210 (or something like that) and a GPA of an 86.something. He had decent ECs. He also benefited from legacy, though. That's all I can offer. Good luck.

Fordham is close to open admissions. Don't stress, unless you really f***ed up juinor year or on your sat's.

>>Fordham is close to open admissions<<
Not really true. Last year, the Wall Street Journal listed Fordham as an "Ivy Backup", a term they loosely defined as a school for students who might get rejected by the most elite colleges. Their apps surged by double digits. While they aren't ultra-selective, open admissions is a bit of an overstatement.

63% who apply get in. Avg. Sat is 1166. You have to be a doorknob not to get in.

Actually, those are statistics from the entering Class of 2004 in the fall of 2000. Fordham is far from being open admissions. They recruit and enroll a ton more ethnic and socio-economic diversity, which may lower their SAT averages, but makes for a better class and a better school in comparison to its main competitors. The Class of 2005, when apps surged 17% had an acceptance rate of 55% and an SAT Median of 1180. This past year, the Class of 2006, when apps surged an additional 10%, had an acceptanced rate of 57% (they expanded class size for the final time I have been told recently) and an SAT Median of 1200. This year, yet another surge of 17% to over 13,000 applications, will drop the acceptance rate below 50% (no additional class size increases) and look for an SAT Median of 1230-1240 for acceptees and 1210-1220 for enrollees. Fordham is a school on the rise, bigtime.
