cool overbay. well i posted early, but i received no response.
i am from the west indies. i have a 4.0 GPA. Have been ranked 1st in class of 98 at a tiny Anglican school.

My EC's are as follows:
-President of Debate Club
-Lead Speaker at Nassau's MUN
-Piano for 8 yrs
-Intramural swimming
-Published Poem in American anthology
-Interact/Key Club
-Summer research at U of Miami School of Medicine: Miami Project to Cure Paralysis
-Soloist at my church for 5 years
-Leading role in school plays

Yes dude, 1370 is very good. Many ivies have average SAT scores of around 1400, so you're actually in the middle 50% range for many. Considering the fact that everything else is going well for you, you'll have a great chance at a lot of ivyish schools. What are your top choices?

1370 is a very good score.
You will be competitive for the best schools in the nation except for Harvard, Princeton, Caltech, and MIT.

Stanford's averages are pretty high as well... here are the stats for the class of 2002:

SAT verbal
700-800 - 22% admit rate
600-690 - 9% admit rate
500-590 - 5% admit rate

SAT math
700-800 - 16% admit rate
600-690 - 10% admit rate
500-590 - 7% admit rate

However, 1370 by no means takes you out of the running.

has anyone gotten in with a 1300 or lower that wasn't a recruited athlete or legacy????
