I'm interested at Hospitality Major.. (probably 90% sure for now.. 10% business related major)
I'm thinking about Cornell Hotel School, Boston University, Purdue, NYU, Univ. of Hawaii, UNLV for hospitality related major. I'll be reducing to 5 choices including U.H (because I'm a Hawaii resident..)
I'll probably want to choose between Cornell and Boston.. and is it possible to get in for the SAT I score between mid 12's - to high 1300's?
I will be taking my first test on October.. and will be doing 60+ hrs of community service at hospital and going to SAT prep class.. does prep classes help you raise the score?
I talked to a lady that was at Boston Univ. booth at National College Fair two days ago, and they said that they will be only accepting the new SAT I. (I'm sophomore.. so I will need to take new SAT as well)
But I want to take old one first before I take new one.. anyway.. does taking many SATs ruin your transcript?
I haven't partcipated in many E.C.'s but I will be start to do it more.. thinking about working at the hospital even after the 2004-2005 school year begins..
These are the things I'm going to do..
60+ hrs hospital volunteer
3hrs/ each week from 2004-2005 school yr
Participate in school related voluntarily serv.
Do some minor services at other places
(currently thinking about 200-250hrs altogether)
part time job at Hotel (once in a week - which might help on my transcript)
LEO Club (10th ~ )
Korean Club (10th ~ ) and I probably be an officer next year.
Key Club (will be joining)
Photography Club (will be..)
NHS (will be..)
Chess (will be..)
Track Team (will be.. I used to be like top 1 in elementary.. but lost interest.. so I quit..)
Cross Country (will be..)
SAT I: at least 1250 (on first one)
and keep improving..
SAT II: Korean, Writing, US History
AP classes.. maybe one in my senior year..
Hawaiian History / US History (part of it) (Required for all students in Hawaii)
Junior (planning to..)
Band.. (not sure which one I'm going yet)
English III (Intensive)
Travel Industry Management (.. might help on my transcript??)
World History (Summer school)
Japanese IV (maybe.. or not)
Business Principles and Management
AP US History
Economics / Sociology
(Maybe Physics or more business class if I don't take Japanese)
I can speak Korean (fluent), English (I'm immigrant.. but no problem communicating. and people say I'm good), Japanese(learning.. conversation is okay, writing is good..)
My current cumulative gpa is around 3.6? but I can raise it up in 2 years.
Give me your honest thoughts please.............
Thank you very much
