you definitely have a dang lot going for you. your stats are very competitive.

difficult schedule - check
great GPA/testing/school rank - check
ECs - check

I say, if you nail your essays you could have a great shot.

14 APs by the end of Junior year? Dang!

By Drake (Drake) on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 - 07:21 pm: Edit

Oops. It's 13 APs because I will take Calculus BC in 12th grade. (I projected a 5 because I did well in IB Calculus.) The other projections are (as indicated) my 3 HL exams and German SL exam.

Thanks, so I suppose my 3.8 uw gpa is okay...YAY!

You have a great shot but be aware many kids that have spectacular stats do not get in to the Ivies. Make sure you apply to a few matches that you like alot. You will most likely be accepted to Emory and UChicago. Some people with perfect stats and talents did not get in this year to the Ivies.

How does your school do IBs? Becuase for our school, we're required to take each IB course for two years to fulfill the IBO instructional and lab hours requirements. It's rather sad because it severely limits room in our schedules.

You have great statistics and would probably get into all the schools you apply to.

Chatter, yes some schools only allow an all-or-nothing IB program. But you can take only specific IB classes.

You're gonna find this funny, but the only B's I got in high school were my 3 years of German, and Honors Chemistry . . . that's strangely coincidental.
