Looking for a top school for computer science(Carnegie, Tufts, Case, UMich, Berkely, et.al.) and have the following stats:
SAT I: 1300 (taking again)
GPA: 3.8
ECs: Key Club, Youth Leadership, Engineering Society, school radio, school paper
Also, National Honor Society, working since soph yr as Syst Engineer for non-profit org.
Would appreciate any thoughts you might have regarding my chances. Would prefer not to go to an all/mostly male something-institute-of-technology.
What else might you recommend if not these schools? Thanks!

Hey, here's a school that might not be on your radar: Olin. It's very new: about 3 yrs I think. But it's free if you get in. However, it's very hard to get in. Your gpa looks good, as does the job thing, and your ECs are ok. I'd shoot for at least 1400 on the SATs: take a class or something.
Also, why an all boy school? just curious.

Thanks julibean for the Olin tip.
BTW, I'm a male and I *don't* want an all or mostly male school. I'm looking for a decent number of women. The 80/20 thing's not gonna work for me.
Again, thanks

NYU has a great computer science program. Cornell does too but you are concerned about the mostly male thing.

NYU and Cornell would be fine since the Univ as a whole as a good gender mix. It's the engineering-only colleges that I'm seeking to avoid.
As for your recommendations, I've been to NYU and I liked it. However, I don't have a snowball's chance in hell of making Cornell with my stats, do I?
Thanks!
