Hi, I'm a junior and wondering: where can I go? My academic qualifications are as follows:
SAT I: 1600
SATII: 780,770,710
AP:
as sophomore:
Euro History: 5
Bio: 5
Calc AB: 4
Latin Lit (Ovid): 3
as Junior (score are projected from practice tests):
AP Chem: 5 (easy)
AP Calc BC: 5 (easy, only had one semester on AB, but nevertheless overcomplicated questions on free-response, forcing me to employ far more advanced techniques!)
AP English Language: 4/5 (any tips would be appreciated since my teacher does nothing)
AP US History: probably 5 (again, unfocused teacher)
AP Latin Vergil: probably 5 (working towards AP test instead of A in class, made word-for-word translation of entire syllabus with explications, any additional tips most welcome)
AP Computer Science AB: 5 (easy)
senior (courses for which I am enrolled and for which I plan to take the tests):
Physics C, English Literature, Gov, Econ, Micro Econ, Macro Econ, Latin Lit (Horace or Cicero), and some elective like Psych, Stat or art history. Also, I'll get AP weighting for Differential Equations and possibly retake Calc AB.
I have a 4.0/4.5+ (weighting: honors=+0.5; AP=+1.0), #1 in class of 300 or so at a private, Catholic prep academy in AZ (weighted GPA will probably go up with religion credits dropped)
my dad doesn't think I can get into CalTech (my number 1), what do you guys think?
