I am a junior at a public high school in New Jersey. This year I was a lead attorney on the mock trial team and an editor for my school newspaper. I will be the editor in chief next year. I also have contributed to my local newspaper since sophmore year. I'm on Fed Challenge and we placed third in the state this year. I placed in states for public forum debate and I will be captain of the debate team next year. My freshman year, I founded a philosophy club at my high school. I am also captain of my school's academic competition team. During the summer between my freshman and sophmore year, I raised sixty thousand dollars for a cure for aids along with two of my friends. Last summer, I studied at the American University of Paris for 8 weeks. This summer I am taking some government courses at Harvard. I will be in NHS next year. By the end of high school, I will have taken 6 AP classes and tests. my gpa is a 98.2 and I am in the top ten of a class of 850. I'm fairly certain I will be accepted to Yale since my grandfather was a dean and is now a professor emeritus there. I'm not sure about harvard though. What do you think my chances are?

Forgot a couple things
-national merit commended scholar
-1530 SAT's
-my school has a •••••• gpa system so i donno my gpa other than what my gc told me(98.2). however i think that that is weighted
-my school only offers 12 AP's in total and only 8% of students take AP's- thats why i only have 6

What your stats show is that you can apply and be seriously considered. That means you have about a 1 in 10 chance of being admitted which is about as good as it gets for anyone.
