Is a 1500 good enough to go to the most selective schools... assuming that my other "stats" are good? Or should I take the SATs again (I've done better ~1550 on most of the 10 Real SATs) Thanks!

Well, that seems to be more of a qualifier, not something that will tip you into the admissions pile. A 1550 won't help that much either.

A 1500 doesn't guarantee anything but it does help obviously.

Is there a big difference between a 1400 and a 1500? Obviously one is higher than the other, but when you get in that range above the 90th percentile, do the scores really matter that much? For example, University of Michigan lumps 1360-1600 into one group. Also, I believe that having a high verbal is much more important than a high math. Lots of people break 750 on math, but not many break 750 on verbal...

What was your breakdown? If we knew that we could better help you...

740V/760M... usually I do better in verbal and about the same in math...

I have a similar situation (710V 790M) The funny thing is that I usually get 800 in verbal and around 740 in math... I was also wondering whether or not people thought that I should take it again... Any input to my case or 1500's case?

How many times have you taken the test before, and what scores did you get before? Those would probably be the deciding factors.

samething, you should take it again

this was the second time I took the test... the first time I got similar scores (a little lower)... However, both times I was very tired and the first time I was even sick... I was thinking about taking them again in April with a week of rest and without stressing about them beforehand... Good idea?

That was the first time that I took the SAT

To 1500 and samething:
It depends... if you know that you can do better... GO FOR IT... otherwise you should just be happy w/ your 1500 (which is a great score)... Maybe take another practice test and see how you do... go off of that...
Does everyone else agree w. me?
Good luck to both of you!!!!!!!!!!
