Boys Nation will sound better, so try for that.

itz not a matter of sounding better.. Boys Nation is an extention of Boys State. At Boys State, 2 senators are selected (same for girls state as well) and so boys nation is formed. Girls nation is also at the same time (usually the 3rd week of july; girls state/boys state is late june). The program is excellent but the housing could be better (depends which state you're from too). Overall, for anyone interested in government or running for office someday, it's an excellent program.

I went to last years Boys State and then was selected and attended Boys Nation.. and i can tell you that it is one of the best experiences i had throughout hs. Not just having president Bush speak to us, watching him leaving on marine one while on the white house lawn.. but the guys in the program are insane. You will meet some of the most intelligent and outgoing guys the country has to offer. I HIGHLY recommend this not only b.c it looks good for college but its a changing experience.. I got job offers to work for my senators (and will this summer), walked on the senate floor while in session, made contacts with so many Washington power people along with meeting Hilary, McKain, Lott, Byrd, Dashold, and many others. If you all have any other questions fill free to email me. Its in my profile.
Try to get into Boys Nation if you can.. Its highly competitive but worth so much
Good luck!!

Boys' State is good; Boys' Nation is definitely a plus. Most colleges know what the program is, and even if you stay at the state level, you can at least turn it into a good topic for an essay.

Like everyone said, Boys State is a big plus. On the service academy (West Point, Naval Academy etc.) applications there is actually a box to check if you have participated. My school sent 10 guys last year, the most ever, and I wish I had been chosen. It wouldn't have gotten me into any colleges I can't get into now but it would have been nice for scholarship apps and the learning experience.

Well I am reluctantly witdrawing my application to Boys State due to scheduling conflicts. I hope I am not missing a great opportunity, but my gut tells me I am not lol. Can't say I was looking forward to having marines as "counselors" anyway...
