What are my chances at a place like Duke?

If you are minority than you have a good shot, but if you are either Asian, White, or a Jew, you need better scores. You also don't have many EC so, try to win something. As it stands Duke is the #6 school in the country according to U.S. News and World Reports. If you want a decent chance you really should raise your scores or right a really wicked essay.

The fact he's a National Hispanic Scholar leads me to believe that he's not any of those things, even though I don't agree with your assessment of his stats. Kid in my class got into Duke and he's def not in the top 10, but may be in the top 10%, i dunno, but he definitely doesn't have ridiculously high scores. Just write a bangin' essay and hope for the best!

I am a minority, Im hispanic. What other awards could i get. I have all state music awards, my national hispanic scholar award (its given to 3000 of the top hispanic students based on PSAT scores), and especially my eagle scout award. BTW my essay is in my profile. tell me if u like it.
