Hey... Im applying to Columbia, NYU, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Brown, BC, Georgetown, Goerge Washington, University of Virginia, and UCONN..

Here are my stats.. what do you think?? IM WORRIED!

I am a first generation american from Afghanistan
attending an inner city public school.

SAT I - 710M/690V
SAT II - 720 (USHis.), 650 (MathI), 640 (Writing)
9.1 on 12 point scale (approx. 3.6-3.7 on 4 point scale)

Ranked 7/221

5 AP classes
US History - 5
AP Chem, Calc, Lit, and Spanish this year

4 years tennis, art and culture club, talented and gifted program and more EC's... also i work for AmeriCorps (national organization that helps poor communities)

2 good rec's.
good essay (i think i accidentally used the word "prospective" in one part when i wanted to use "perspective".. so im kinda worried)

My hair is going gray.. Help me!!!! thanks!

dude, my friend is a second generation Pakastani and he got in a month ago. Your stats are much better than his (except his SAT score was 20 pts higher, and he applied to Columbia engineering). Dont listen to "weer" (queer would be a better name for him). You have a good shot. The only thing is that you could really do w/some more recs.

If they notice it, tbey'll probably reject you because you used prospective. Colleges hate that. Makes you look careless. But they probably won't notice, so don't worry too much.

The verbal's low for Harvard and the rest. A good essay could get you in.
