Chen,
As you know, it's always a guess, especially with NYU, and especially THIS year, but your info looks good. Your gpa is probably a little lower than most and your SAT's are in the low range for the middle 50%. However, kids do get into NYU with numbers like those. I'm just not sure about this particular year because of the number of applicants and the somewhat random weirdness that NYU exhibits in admissions sometimes. Your e/c's are excellent so that's an advantage. What college did you apply to? One thing that might be a little worrisome is that you haven't received (I'm assuming) an invitation to the events at the end of March or the beginning of April. Nor were you referred to GSP and lots of kids with similar stats to yours were. While that isn't necessarily a definite negative, it's not a positive either. Hopefully, you'll hear something good very soon.

will NYU consider your senior year gpa b/c mine will be 4.0+ and that is much higher then the 3.55 which they will see on my transcript. It would be a big advantage and just wondering if they would consider it

Are you a senior now? They won't know your senior gpa because the decisions have pretty much been made by now and they won't have had that information because the year isn't over. If they asked you for a mid-year transcript then they possibly would consider your first term but other than that they'll go on the transcript that your h/s sent in when you applied. Also keep in mind that it's a cumulative gpa that they look at, not just one particular year.

just in case someone does a search for my posts, this chen is not me, so the stats don't match.
